Chief Radiation Physicist - Radiation Oncology
Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER
Biweekly Hours: 80.00
Shift: 8-5

Summary:
Functions under the direction of the Division Chief of Radiology Oncology and Cancer Center Service Line Dyad. Directs and oversees MetroHealth's Radiation Oncology Physics and Dosimetry services. Maintains quality assurance and improvement of all technical radiation therapy activities, including treatment simulation, planning, and treatment delivery for both external beam, brachytherapy, and Stereotactic Radiosurgery programs. Collaborates with the department's Information Services (IS) resources, staff and patient education, the radiation safety program, and the Physics and Dosimetry section. Ensures compliance with Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Radiation Safety Regulations. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Required: Graduate of a formal Medical Physics Training program. Board Certification by the ABR or ABMP in Therapeutic Radiological Physics. Eligibility for status as an Ohio Certified Radiation Expert. Five (5) years clinical experience in Radiation Therapy physics. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate and work effectively with providers and other support groups. Preferred: Doctorate in Physics. Two (2) years' experience in a supervisory position. Physical Demands: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. Exert up to fifteen (15) pounds of force occasionally. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction
