This program immerses students into the daily operation of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast's top innovators. The student becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units.
Organization & Team Overview
Comcast Technology Product Xperience (TPX) department is responsible for the technology and product definition of all future audio, video, voice and security equipment deployed in subscriber homes across the Comcast Cable network. Activities include supporting senior level engineers with researching, designing, planning, developing, and/or evaluating new, advanced technologies applicable for our product portfolio. This position also offers the opportunities to be directly involved with prototyping and demonstrations of emerging technology working in conjunction with Comcast suppliers and potential suppliers.
Role Description
Your role will consist of support senior level engineers with the researching, designing, planning, developing, and/or evaluating new, advanced technologies applicable for our product portfolio.
What are some interesting problems the student will work on?
In your role, you will help develop the electrical circuit board design of Comcast's next generation best in class broadband gateways, learning how to balance cost with functions and features while offering an exceptional user experience.
Where can this student make an impact?
You'll be working with the leading-edge broadband and Wi-Fi technology, where success in this role is characterized by a higher cost optimized best in class performing devices, that will wow Comcast's Xfinity and Now customers.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support engineering staff with the analysis and review of circuit board designs
Support engineering staff with the development of circuit board designs
Perform functional testing and validation of circuit board designs
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Preferred Skills
Basic understanding of circuit board design and ability to read schematics utilizing OrCAD and/or Altium software tools
Ability to modify and develop schematics utilizing OrCAD and/or Altium software tools
Ability to modify and develop PCB layout utilizing OrCAD and/or Altium software tools
Ability to operate test equipment which includes but is not limited to oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers.
Preferred Majors: Electrical Engineering
Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree from Drexel University, with a cooperative learning track.
Available to work 40 hours per week for 6 months starting March 31, 2025 through September 19, 2025.
Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)
