The Comcast Cooperative Experience internship Program will help you cultivate meaningful relationships, develop strong interpersonal and business skills, gain exposure to the day-to-day operations of a Fortune 40 media and technology company, and receive mentorship opportunities to expand your professional network.

This program immerses students into the daily operation of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast's top innovators. The student becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units.

Organization & Team Overview

The Comcast Network and Connectivity Team (CONNECT), is responsible for innovation, reliability, scalability, and development across our network capabilities. It drives strategy for the nation's largest gigabit Internet network and delivers multigigabit upload and download speeds to tens of millions of Americans. The team operates within the broader Technology & Product Experience engineering organization at Comcast Corporate, based in the Comcast Technology Center in Philadelphia. The CONNECT Program Management team which this position reports to is responsible for top priority programs within CONNECT and engages with multiple layers of leadership and individual contributors to drive successful execution of Project and Program schedules.

Role Description

As a Program Manager Co-op on the CONNECT team, you will support the CONNECT FDX Program, which leads the development of hardware and software on which our multigigabit symmetrical speeds run. The Co-Op Student in this position will work side by side with our decision makers, project managers, and engineers as they become involved in every aspect of a program manager's job. They'll gain hands on experience in what it takes to drive technical software and hardware development roadmaps which deliver new and improved services on our industry leading nationwide edge network. Due to the technical nature of this position, there will be opportunities to work closely with our engineers to understand the aspects of quality assurance and how we operationalize the new technology built by CONNECT.

What are some interesting problems the student will work on?

In your role, you will work on operational needs of our FDX products and services. You will host daily calls to collect feedback from our team of engineers and translate findings into bugs or features to be communicated to our development teams.You will also assist in triage of anomalies found in the field which help us drive down trouble calls. The role will work closely with our Quality Assurance teams on managing the hardware and software lifecycle to ensure the test efforts align with our program deployment milestones.

Where can this student make an impact?

You will be in contact with some high level engineers in the organization through our Distinguished and Fellow levels. Due to the nature of the programs this team is responsible for, you will learn about the Access Technology architecture to be confident in facilitating technical conversations with team members and identifying priority topics for the team to tackle. Success in this role stems from keeping our team members aligned on program status through clear communication and aiding the team in driving down our TC rates.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the tracking of decisions and actions during daily vendor software delivery and QA status sync

  • Monitor daily CRAID updates and communicate new issues and risks to Program Managers

  • Communicate program status to Program Manager team in weekly staff meeting to keep team aligned on progress and key decisions from past week

  • Maintain team wiki pages to continually evolve and communicate our Program workflows

  • Develop and maintain JIRA dashboards to support market progression readiness checks

  • Drive continual improvement by analyzing current workflows and implementing suggested solutions

  • Identify new opportunities to create training aides to support the awareness and understanding of FDX

  • Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues in a timely manner

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in the following apps: Confluence, Excel, SmartSheet, PowerPoint

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Good problem solving ability and interpersonal communication skills, written and verbal

  • Preferred Majors: Engineering, Software Development, Project Management

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree from Drexel University, with a cooperative learning track.

  • Available to work 40 hours per week for 6 months starting March 31, 2025 through September 19, 2025.

  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs

  • Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)

Base Pay: $32.00
