Position Summary:

The HR Manager, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) represents the “voice of the business” and will focus on people solutions that address business, employee and company needs.  This six-month contractor role will support the Gene Therapy Manufacturing Facility in Bedford, MA and 4 days onsite is required to be able to fully integrate with the business.  As part of the Ultragenyx HR service delivery model, the HRBP collaborates closely with subject matter expertise from HR specialist partners (internal and external) to deliver high impact solutions to the business units. 

Work Model: 

Flex: This role will typically require onsite work 4 days each week, or more depending on business needs. In many locations, the business will set certain days each week that Flex employees are required to be onsite.

Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate and drive people programs and initiatives (e.g., pay for performance and total rewards, workforce planning, talent review and planning, succession planning, taking a lead role in driving HR department-wide goals and initiatives)
  2. Provide coaching to managers and employees on a myriad of issues including attendance warnings, policy violations, performance management, reasonable accommodation.
  3. Provide thought partnership to business unit leaders, managers, and employees on a wide range of business topics.
  4. Provide group facilitation (business unit leadership team strategy discussions, brainstorming sessions, prioritization and decision-making meetings, team development)
  5. Other programs and initiatives in support of the business

Requirements:

BA/BS degree required, or equivalent; with 2-3  years’ experience in Human Resources preferred

  1. Ability to provide difficult feedback to employees, managers, and leaders at all levels
  2. Demonstrated ability to remain objective when handling sensitive employee relations matters
  3. Demonstrated ability to work independently, including the ability to organize, plan, prioritize and handle multiple assignments simultaneously
  4. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact, exercise discretion, judgment and diplomacy with ability to express thoughts in a clear and concise manner.
  5. Excellent stakeholder management and proactive communication skills required to effectively manage projects, programmatic deliverables, and all areas of the HRBP role
  6. Must be a self-starter and have a positive and flexible attitude
