The Creative Asset Specialist supports REI.com by acquiring, processing and publishing product content (imagery and video) in support of REI.com product pages, marketing campaigns, and multi-channel digital publishing. This role requires initiative to seek out, identify, prioritize and manage work in order to initiate downstream business workflow and ensure deadlines are met in support of Merchandising, Digital Retail, In-Store Marketing, Direct Mail, Email, Internet Marketing, Internet Advertising, Social Media, REI Mobile, and REI Private Brand programs.
This role supports building world-class product experiences with best in class product imagery and video enhancing REI’s digital and print experiences through execution in three key areas:
- Content acquisition: Partner with vendors to acquire digital content utilizing digital toolsets, business workflow automation, and reporting.
- Content approval and publishing: Receive, review, edit, and add meta-data to all content prior to ingestion into REI business systems. All content is reviewed against REI style guidelines to maintain brand consistency across REI.com product pages.
- Content curation: Maintain the content, presentation and meta-data that comprise customer facing REI.com product page experiences. Implement edits in coordination with internal and external teams to provide an enhanced online shopping experience for REI customers.
This role enhances customer experience by producing complete and accurate content that inspires, educates and helps our customers make the best possible buying decision.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Maintain and update vendor contact database for vendor content acquisition
- Coordinate with REI vendors to acquire product imagery and video content via REI’s Vendor Portal
- Process vendor product imagery and video content
- Assign metadata to all content prior to processing and ingestion to REI business systems
- Track and report missing, incomplete, or outstanding assets to vendors
- Partner with Merchandising/Digital/Marketing/Direct Sales/Retail/Vendors to identify product content to enhance or update
- Coordinate with Studio Production Team to when image content cannot be sourced from vendors
- Respond quickly to changing priorities, internal content requests and product page corrections and updates.
- Provide front line technical assistance to vendors for Vendor Portal and escalate unresolvable issues to internal technical resources
- Work with cross-divisional partners to troubleshoot and solve technical problems related to image and video assets for REI’s ecommerce sites
Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant product management work experience in ecommerce, vendor catalog, or other large-scale structured data feed industries.
- 3+ year technical data compilation, data management.
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and generate innovative solutions in an extremely fast-paced environment.
- Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects.
- Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, autonomy and initiative with minimal supervision.
- Ability to problem solve and perform accurate work under tight schedules.
- Demonstrated successful ability to work collaboratively with various departments
- Experience using technical applications and/or user interfaces
- Demonstrated project management skills and ability to fulfill resource needs.
- Proven ability to find innovative solutions to remedy potential issues.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and respond quickly to issues.
- Demonstrated experience in continuous process improvement efforts
- Effectively participates, collaborates, and manages with others on one's own team and cross divisionally for the achievement of business goals
- Four-year degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Proficiency using Adobe Photoshop and Creative Suite of applications
- Proficiency with Macintosh operating systems.
- Experience using Outlook and maintaining a high volume email inbox
