Delivery Managers serve as the Chief Scrum Master across all delivery teams within a product. They are responsible for the overall solution delivery and support of large-scale programs with complex integrations. Delivery Managers are responsible for managing the communication across program stakeholders, defining mitigation strategies to remediate risks and issues, and assisting teams to ensure that the value being delivered aligns to the product vision defined by product managers.

A Delivery Manager on the International IT team is responsible for successful delivery of large, complex, cross-functional projects across the globe for the Costco International efforts. This position provides direct leadership to project teams through all phases of the project and/or program. The individual in this role will lead efforts to define international technology solution delivery and coordinate with appropriate verticals/horizontals, as well as in-country local IT teams to facilitate implementation of such efforts. This position also provides all of the necessary direction, coordination, and follow-up to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, with requirements met, with quality, and completed supportable models for global operations. The Delivery Manager is a highly organized agile expert who can manage the agile ceremonies of one or more agile product engineering teams. The Delivery Manager works closely with the Product Owner to plan the backlog for the engineering team, and works closely with the engineers to get questions answered and requirements updated on multiple release trains/product lines.

ROLE

● Helps with the allocation of resources and provides teams with the necessary support to remediate impediments and reported issues, as well as can understand the technical language at an engineering level to address issues and estimates work time for stories as accurately as the engineers themselves.

● Works with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, DMs, UX, and Principal Engineers to plan release schedules across products.

● Understands and executes test automation processes and the importance for agile delivery.

● Supports product teams with the delivery of new features and capabilities; optimizes delivery processes.

● Supports the Product Manager with the facilitation of system demos to demonstrate the integration of products to program stakeholders.

● Leads program increment retrospectives to identify improvement opportunities that can be implemented to improve productivity.

● Monitors delivery team metrics to evaluate progress against delivery milestones (e.g., release burnups).

● Aggregates individual delivery pod status into portfolio-level risks, assumptions, and interdependencies.

● Creates weekly reports highlighting the health of the overall delivery status to program leadership and various stakeholders.

● Fosters collaboration between the delivery pods and stakeholders at the product level.

● Facilitates regular “Scrum-of-Scrum” meetings with Scrum Masters across the enterprise to drive alignment between development activities and review blockers or impediments impacting team productivity (ART Sync).

● Coordinates the resolution of internal and external dependencies across value streams and shared services.

● Drives tactical day-to-day delivery process, including removing impediments that negatively impact productivity or block the team’s process.

● Allocates resources and provides teams with necessary support to address impediments.

● Works with product owners to plan release schedules from the technology perspective (i.e. coordinate teams for delivery against release schedule).

● Works with stakeholders to create a high-level preliminary release and project delivery plans for product features.

● Manages delivery team metrics to evaluate progress against delivery milestones (i.e. releases).

● Aggregates individual product team status into portfolio-level risks, assumptions, and interdependencies.

● Reports on overall delivery status to program leadership and various stakeholders.

● Adheres to technology standards while developing systems.

● Establishes and organizes application development plans that align with the goals and strategies.

● Sets clear expectations for self and others and takes appropriate actions to ensure obligations are met.

● Revises standards in response to change.

● Understands Resource Management and the value of the Resource Management; and may practice one or more behaviors associated with the skill.

● Applies standard techniques and tools to carry out analysis and performance monitoring activities for specified products.

● Supports problem resolution, resolves issues, and acts on feedback and usage of in-life products.

● Provides input to the requirements base-line.

● Investigates, manages, and applies authorized requests for changes to base-lined requirements, in line with change management policy.

● Provides guidance and best practices in Agile processes, Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban.

● Facilitates program increment (PI) sessions across all delivery pods aligned to a product or value stream, and the accompanying planning sessions (pre and post PI planning sessions).

● Understands the Objectives and Key Results (OKR) framework and works with the team to measure outcomes.

● Confirms that the team meets security and governance requirements, as well as understands engineering delivery processes and change management.

● Ensures effective communication, collaboration, coordination, and team engagement in initiatives that cut across portfolios and products.

● Manages budgets, SOW’s, and works through the approval process for Governance and financial review.

REQUIRED

● Experience as a Delivery Manager (RTE) and/or Program/Project Manager.

● Experience designing and implementing Agile or DevOps processes.

● Proven track record for successful delivery of projects and working cross-functionally with business and IT.

● Past experience leading development teams in Agile.

● Ability to create and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and report critical paths.

Recommended

● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

● PMP, PgMP, and Agile certifications.

● 5+ years’ of Agile practices.

● 5+ years’ of project or Delivery Management experience.

● Experience handling projects in Data & Analytics domain, Datawarehousing, BI/Reporting systems

● Knowledge of Ecommerce systems.

● Proficient in Google Workspace applications, including Sheets, Docs, Slides, and Gmail.

Pay Ranges:

Level 2 - $105,000 - $135,000

Level 3 - $125,000 - $155,000
