Health Information Technology and Services (HITS) is seeking a Digital Experience Designer to help shape the future of our web presence and design solutions that improve Michigan Medicine employees' access to essential resources. Responsibilities*
User Interface Design
- Drive impactful UI design projects and uphold high standards of design quality across the organization.
- Develop journey maps to enhance the end-to-end customer experience.
- Partner with service owners, change management leads, and developers to design engaging interfaces for web and mobile platforms.
Usability Testing & Customer Research
- Conduct customer research and usability testing initiatives, with a strong focus on accessibility.
- Transform user feedback into actionable insights to inform product development.
- Design and conduct feedback sessions, usability tests, and synthesize findings for stakeholders.
Digital Design
- Oversee complex digital design projects, ensuring visually engaging and effective designs.
- Create user stories, wireframes, and prototypes to illustrate workflows and user experiences.
- Mentor team members and ensure alignment with brand standards.
Analytics & Data Interpretation
- Collect, analyze, and interpret U/X research data, web analytics, and performance metrics.
- Use data insights to drive optimization strategies and set key success metrics.
Technical Proficiency
- Demonstrate expertise in key software and tools, influencing technology choices for UI development.
- Lead adoption of new tools to enhance design and U/X capabilities.
Leadership & Professional Development
- Independently assess and make decisions on complex tasks.
- Actively mentor and support colleagues, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
- Stay current on emerging U/X trends, tools, and technologies.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3-4 years' experience
Desired Qualifications*
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
- Expertise in U/X methodologies and tools, supported by a degree or industry certification.
- Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively in a primarily remote team.
- Ability to come on site quarterly to conduct workplace user interviews and research.
- Proficiency in web design principles and accessibility best practices.
- Knowledge of SEO, metadata, and digital traffic optimization.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, organized, and able to manage multiple projects.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Modes of Work
