Shift Night Sunday - Thursday 10:00pm - 6:30am Rotating every 8th Saturday 5:00am - 1:00pm
Preferred Experience Must have ASCP HT or ASCP HTL certification Must be able to perform embedding and microtomy procedures assign cases in Beaker to Pathologist and be able to perform Special stain activities using Benchmark Special Stain instruments
The Histotechnician 3 performs and monitors a variety of anatomic procedures and processes, assumes responsibility for problem resolutions, training others on all aspects of the department with minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
- Perform variety of technical procedures resulting in creation of microscopic slide preparations.
- Follow quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures.
- Recognize and take appropriate action when established procedures and policies are not followed.
- Perform instrument maintenance, maintain appropriate inventory of supplies and troubleshooting as needed.
- Maintain effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.
- Participate in laboratory projects and educational activities.
- Demonstrates and educates laboratory methods, technical skills and provide direction to others.
- Performs all delegated functions as defined by facility CLIA Director. Assume leadership responsibility in the absence of Supervisor/Manager.

- EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
- EXPERIENCE - 2 Years of Experience
- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -
ASCP-Histotechnician (ASCP-HT), ASCP-Histotechnologist (ASCP-HTL): Must have one of the following:
- ASCP-Histotechnician
- ASCP-Histotechnologist.
