Job Summary: The ITSM Release Manager as part of the Service Management Office(SMO) will oversee the successful creation and deployment of IT Service Management practices based on the ITIL Framework. This will include planning, negotiating, and managing all release activities, daily management, Stakeholder management, application availability reporting, and people performance will be part of the critical responsibilities. The manager will ensure changes are implemented according to guidelines set by leadership, working closely with Change Management, Incident Management, Project Management, Architects, and business units.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction to a team of professionals responsible for managing IT releases.
- Set clear goals, objectives, and performance expectations for the team.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members, enabling their professional growth.
- Coordinate and publish deployment and release schedules with technology, support, and business partners.
- Develop and manage go-live/cutover plans to ensure correct steps are followed.
- Identify, understand, and resolve issues, dependencies, and risks to mitigate release scope and schedule risks.
- Lead and coordinate Go-Live activities, including execution of deployment plans and checklists, and coordinate production release validation and approval.
- Create key metrics and identify opportunities for strategic and tactical improvements to the release management process.
- Maintain documentation of all release-related processes.
- Support documentation of all changes and outcomes executed through the change management process.
- Coach and train team members on QA processes and practices, and facilitate learning sessions.
- Lead a team dedicated to supporting release activities and centralizing release processes and policies.
- Collaborate with the IT leadership team to define and execute the IT roadmap, aligning it with business objectives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team, encouraging innovative ideas and process enhancements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- At least 3 years in a leadership/supervisory role or 5+ years of release and/or project management experience.
- Experience with software development lifecycle processes and methodologies.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting deployment failures and working with build and development teams.
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize and track multiple projects.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and facilitating solutions to complex problems.
- Strong influencing, leading, and directing skills across multiple functional areas.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ITIL v4 Foundation Certified.
- ITSM Tools: Familiarity with Ivanti Service Manager, Jira or other equivalent service management tooling.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Knowledge of cloud-based release processes and managing deployments across hybrid environments.

The anticipated salary range for this position:
$115,440.00 - $173,160.00 AnnualThe actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
