Please note: This is an internal search limited to current UM-Flint Undergraduate Admissions staff.
Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Admissions, the Senior Admissions Counselor will be responsible for all recruiting activities in an assigned, high-value territory, including school visits, college fairs, and on-campus events, as well as communication with students and parents. In collaboration with the Associate Director of Admissions, this staff member in this position will develop a robust onboarding experience for new staff and ongoing professional development opportunities. The Senior Admissions Counselor is also responsible for managing the Office of Undergraduate Admissions relationships with key external partners, such as foundations and college access organizations.
Responsibilities*
- Manage and develop the scheduling of effective and efficient recruitment travel within
- an assigned territory.
- Represent the university at in-person and virtual recruitment events on and off campus.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students, high school and
- community college staff and faculty, and other stakeholders in an assigned territory, including responding to inquiries and meeting with prospective students.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, specifically with the Cook Family Foundation.
- Assist with the imaging and processing of admission applications and related documents.
Required Qualifications*
- Must be a current UM-Flint Undergraduate Admissions staff.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Two or more years of experience in college admissions or recruitment working with first year students.
- Experience managing partnerships with external organizations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- The ability to work nights and weekends and to travel for recruiting events and professional development
- A valid driver's license
- Employees may be required to use their personal vehicle to travel to off-campus recruitment events. Travel in a personal vehicle will be reimbursed in accordance with the university's travel and business hosting expense policy.

Modes of Work
Hybrid:
The work requirements allow both onsite and offsite work and an employee has an expected recurring onsite presence. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite more frequently if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements.
