Overview
We are seeking a Business Dorector to lead the product management team and manage product life cycles for the OPUS® pre-packed chromatography column portfolio. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in a collaborative environment.
You will be part of a cross functional team of highly motivated and collaborative colleagues that is focused on developing and commercializing high-value bioprocessing products, technologies, and solutions critical in the production of biologic drugs. This role will be based in Waltham, MA and will report to the Senior Vice President of Chromatography and Filtration.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Lead the product management team and manage product life cycles for all for OPUS® pre-packed chromatography columns
· Identify, develop and secure top talent – build a world class team
· Lead cross functional teams to develop and launch new products supported by sound business cases and derived from customer needs
· With the OPUS business unit team, set long-term strategy and yearly tactics for the business, including product development, pricing, manufacturing, positioning, cost reduction programs
· Derive product and revenue forecast from customers and the Commercial team to ensure accurate demand planning, product manufacturing and revenue growth
· Track business metrics to lead achievement and continuous improvement including revenue, sales funnel, margin, complaints, etc.
· Support the global sales organization by providing product positioning, direct in-field support, and the availability of effective product collateral
· Be the customer advocate and the product champion to the internal organization
· Partner with Marketing to develop and execute go-to-market programs and to build the customer opportunity funnel
· Partner with Quality and Operations to execute on-time delivery at the right quality, reduction of customer complaints and overall tactics to support the QMS.
Qualifications
· A minimum of a BS degree in a scientific or engineering discipline; MBA preferred
· A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the biopharmaceutical or life science industries
· Experience in chromatography or bioprocessing highly desired
· Previous people management experience
· Previous experience in product management, sales and/or business management would be beneficial
· Skilled analytical assessment and problem solving
· Proven ability to build mutually beneficial trusting relationships with peers, clients, suppliers and partners
· Willing to travel globally (up to 25%)
Attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong organizational skills required
