How will you make a difference?

In this strategic Sr. Manager of Product position, you will establish a trusted advisor relationship with our external customers, internal teams, and ecosystem partners. You will collaborate with the Wabtec KinetiX and broader Wabtec teams to engage with key customers to manage Product Roadmap for E2E Backoffice Systems. This role requires a strategic thinker adept in technology development. Responsibilities include exploring new business opportunities using data analytics, mapping customer needs, establishing local relationships, and serving as the person of contact (POC) for Backoffice engagements.

What do we want to know about you?

In this role, you will be a strong voice for our customers, driving the streamlined back office solution for the KinetiX portfolio in terms of owning system health dashboards and automated reporting, establishing Key alerts for customers, establishing a customer-centric User Interface, and driving towards the app solution for the portfolio to streamline maintenance and triggers.

  • Strategy and Vision: Develop and evangelize a clear vision and strategy for the back office offering of the product set keeping in mind the customer needs and Wabtec's vision.
  • Strong Customer Focus: Understand and implement process and data flows that provide performance and health insights into product sets. Engage with customers, internal stakeholders, and partners to understand their needs, steer the back office, and enhance product experience.
  • Roadmap Development & Prioritization: Take ownership of the product roadmap and make data-driven decisions to develop key features and enhancements per customer needs, impact on business, and technical feasibility. Ensure alignment across all stakeholders, including engineering, design, and leadership teams.
  • Product Delivery: Collaborate closely with customers, engineering, and UI/UX teams to deliver back-office systems that are easy to use and deliver high value. Define detailed system behavior including process flows to guide development.
  • Risk Identification and Mitigation: Proactively identify potential risks to back-office performance, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Take ownership to mitigate risks and ensure stability and high availability.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Assist cross-functional teams to ensure successful major iterations of development and launch. Provide demos and roadshows to drive the adoption of product features and improvements.
  • Release Planning: Work and coordinate across engineering teams on the development of enhancements and feature releases
  • Performance and Metrics: Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators like Uptime and Availability to measure performance of individual systems and overall back-office. Always evaluate the data available to make data-driven decisions.
  • Communication: Provide timely and consistent communication to stakeholders on updates, progress, and risks. Include any feedback provided to improve features and overall back-office processes and performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Through ongoing internal discussions and customer interaction, drive back-office improvement initiatives by evaluating processes, tools, and technologies.
  • Competitive Advantage: Be up-to-date with new technology trends, what competition is doing, and earmark areas of opportunities and innovation.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, technology, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred - Proven experience (10+ years) in E2E system development in Automotive sector
  • Fluency in English.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Technical acumen to interface with technologists, understand complex concepts and translate in a way that businesses or industries can understand
  • Demonstrated business/Technical acumen, including strong written, verbal & presentation skills.
  • Preferred - Deep understanding of Passenger and Freight Rail operations, systems and their maintenance strategies
  • Deep understanding of the technology stack with E2E mindset
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including creativity and curiosity with the ability to effectively communicate and influence solution direction to both technical and non-technical audiences alike across all organizational levels. Flexibility to navigate cultural nuances and business practices and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, strategic agility, manage diversity, and drive for results
