Summary
The Senior Manager, PMO will lead a team of 10-12 program and project managers, driving value through IT projects and delivery services at Medline. This role involves deploying project/program management practices, governance standards, processes, and metrics to ensure projects/programs are defined, scheduled, tracked, and communicated effectively.
Reporting to the Director of the PMO, this leader will manage critical delivery operations within the PMO and Medline, including:
- Information Services (I/T) Portfolio: Ownership of active projects, intake, and roadmaps within this portfolio, typically IT-funded and led. This manager will handle key leadership relationships, escalations, planning, and overall customer satisfaction.
- Key PMO Process Leadership: Ownership of key processes such as IT Resource Capacity management, Internal Chargeback management, offshore delivery alignment, and other delivery processes and governance strategies.
Responsibilities
- Manage 10-12 project managers delivering within portfolios tied to business units at Medline.
- Direct, coach, and mentor staff in program management tools and techniques.
- Participate in department personnel strategies, including recruiting, retention, hiring, performance coaching, corrective action, and career development.
- Provide escalation support for project delivery issues.
- Oversee project portfolios, assessing cross-project risk and resource conflicts.
- Work with the PMO Director to optimize Medline's project delivery strategy, improving project capacity and demand management.
- Collaborate with internal IT process and business sponsors on project prioritization, continuous improvement efforts, and actionable plans.
- Participate in long-range planning, identifying gaps in resource and skill needs.
- Guide Project Managers in all project components, including resource/staffing options and balancing internal resources across projects.
- Create and lead process change efforts, incorporating effective change and risk management controls.
- Drive standards and methodologies across project/program management activities, ensuring quality deliverables in a cost-effective manner.
- Stay current with industry approaches and tailor new methodologies to the environment as needed.
Formal Education & Certification
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
Knowledge & Experience
- 12+ years of progressive project management experience.
- 5+ years of managerial experience leading a PMO team of project and program managers.
- Proven success in project/program planning and implementation, delivering major/mission-critical projects.
- Demonstrated IT leadership skills with significant PMO interaction.
- Experience leading teams through change, with a preference for transforming organizations from waterfall to agile delivery.
- Skill in implementing process improvement efforts.
- Experience measuring and governing key PM processes (e.g., project life cycle, portfolio management).
- Proven ability to lead a team of Project Managers, discern talent, and proactively manage and mentor staff.
- Strong understanding of project financials, chargebacks, etc.
- Expertise with SharePoint, Excel, and Jira.
- Experience collaborating with senior business stakeholders and executive leaders in a dynamic organization.
- Ability to lead through shifting scope, budgets, and priorities.

The anticipated salary range for this position:
$132,600.00 - $199,160.00 AnnualThe actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
