The Wellesley Water and Sewer Department is seeking a summer laborer to assist with routine operations and maintenance.  Potential duties include painting fire hydrants, assisting in maintenance and repair of distribution equipment, water service repair, water quality sampling, GIS mapping of water infrastructure and/or other duties related to working in a public water system.  Successful applicants will be trained and supervised by department staff but may work independently at times depending on the task.    

This position requires a valid Class D Massachusetts Driver’s license and a genuine interest in learning about water systems operations.  This is a 40hr per week position, working Mondays through Fridays (excluding major holidays) 6:30am to 2:30pm.  Dates of employment are flexible, and the length of employment is expected to be 2-3 months (June through August).  

The rate of pay for this position will be $19/hour.
