Summary:
The Materials Management Supervisor manages the day-to-day operations to ensure that adequate supply volumes are available for a given operations area within the organization. This role manages customer communication and surgical supply chain processes to ensure optimal customer service is met for patient care and business operations. The Supervisor will supervise the procurement of supplies and instruct the a team of Supply Techs on supply processes and changes.
Responsibilities:
- Requisitions supplies from Materials Management stock inventory and special purchase items from vendors/distributors for assigned departments. Coordinate delivery deadlines, backorders, and substitutions with Buyers and Directors. Analyzes spend for contract compliance, cost savings, and other information as needed. Interprets, discusses and presents findings.
- Provides high level customer service and communication.
- Ensures supplies purchased are on contract and monitors supply levels, waste, and spend to surgical volumes.
- Supervises a team of Materials Management Supply Techs and processes to ensure proper receipt, transport, quality control, storage and picking of supplies. Ensure that Materials Management Supply Techs are trained in each phase of work processes.
- Maintains adequate inventory levels for surgical supply inventory and conduct an annual inventory count and weekly cycle counts of Surgery, CSR, and Anesthesia departments.

Qualifications
Required
- Associate’s degree
- Five (5) years of experience in Materials Management or Supply Chain
- One (1) year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role
- Experience with Microsoft office or similar productivity suite.
- Experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system such as INFOR.
Preferred
- Experience working in a healthcare organization.
