Position: HCS Senior Leader, Quality & Organizational Excellence
We are seeking a transformational leader in quality and organizational excellence to shape the future of care delivery and improve quality/patient outcomes across our system. In this highly influential role, you will lead complex, high-impact initiatives aligned with our strategic priorities, partnering closely with senior leadership and operational teams to drive sustainable improvement that improves the health and well-being of North Carolinians.

A key focus for this position will be leading coaching for our physician-led and professionally managed Women’s Health Improvement Collaborative, advancing quality, equity, and outcomes in women’s health services.
What You'll Do:
1. Strategic Leadership & System Collaboration
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executives and clinical leaders, influencing direction and strategic priorities.
- Lead enterprise-wide initiatives—including the Women’s Health Improvement Collaborative—that enhance care quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Act as a mentor, coach, and subject matter expert for performance improvement and change management practices.
2. Innovation & Capability Development
- Identify and implement tools, methodologies, and technologies that drive system-wide performance and innovation.
- Design and deliver Lean Six Sigma and other performance improvement projects and training across the organization.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and external experts to bring forward-thinking solutions to complex challenges.
3. Patient & Team Member Experience
- Strengthen system-wide approaches that improve experience, engagement, and service excellence.
- Define and track success metrics, building accountability and continuous improvement into the culture.
- Create environments where collaboration, inclusion, and high performance thrive.
4. Enterprise Project Leadership
- Lead complex, multi-faceted improvement projects from concept through execution.
- Advance system-wide project management capability and best practices.
- May lead or contribute to key operational or executive committees to ensure alignment and impact.
5. Advanced Analytics & Continuous Learning
- Use advanced statistical methods to inform strategic decisions and evaluate opportunities.
- Stay ahead of emerging techniques (e.g., simulation, predictive modeling) to enhance problem-solving and value creation.
- Continuously seek out learning opportunities to stay current and lead innovation.
Preferred Qualifications & Key Attributes
- Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification preferred (not required).
- Demonstrated success in leading large-scale quality, safety, or performance improvement initiatives.
- Strong track record of follow-through, accountability, and driving results in complex environments.
- Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills across clinical and non-clinical teams.
- Effective communicator and influencer, comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in healthcare or similarly regulated, high-stakes industries preferred.

● Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● No licensure or certification required.
● Requires completed portfolio and must have one member of the Quality committee (or designee) on interview team.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● If a Bachelor's degree: Six (6) years of experience in quality team facilitation, project management, process improvement or quality data analysis.
● If a Master's degree: Five (5) years of experience in quality team facilitation, project management, process improvement or quality data analysis.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
● Strong leadership skills, ability to influence leaders and lead complex projects. Facilitation skills and presentation skills.
